Final Fall Project
Description
Create a 4-5 min composition using the Modular, Moog, and Minifreak simultaneously. As always, there is no aesthetic preference, your piece can be beat-based, ambient, or a combination. Follow the directions in Assignment 10 for the recording process (you should record with 4 tracks: mix, Moog, Minifreak, and modular)
The ONLY constraint, is that all three synths MUST be synchronized. There's a variety of ways to do this, but using PAMs as the main clock for the Moog and the Minifreak is the most convenient (as we also did in Assignment 10).
You do not have to create your piece in one sitting; it can be the result of multiple sessions or of one long session, from which you then select and stitch together the best parts in Logic. However, you cannot layer recording sessions. What we hear at any given moment should only be the result of the simultaneous Modular, Moog, and Minifreak.
Aim to have a clear beginning, middle, and ending.
Your recorded pieces, which are worth 20% or your grade, are due on Wednesday 12/17 no later than 11:50pm. Submit your work in your student folder on the 618 iMac.
We will listen to your work all together during the first class of the spring semester.
