MaxMSP Assignment 5

Design a laptop orchestra patch

Using the Auzzie package, along with the various patches I gave you in class and any other object you desire, create laptop orchestra instrument patch. Follow these parameters:

• You must have two sound sources. The first is the WAVR Auzzie module, which
creates simple waveform sounds. The second source is the APLAYR module, which plays back sound files. You can load any file into APLAYR (why not one of your pieces?).

• Both modules should be connected to a CROSSFADR module so that you can switch in between the sources.

• The output of CROSSFADR should then be connected to various effects, in parallel, with each effect followed by a AFADR module. Here, you can use the processing chains you created in Assignment 4.

• You must use the dt_wavectl and dt_random each at least once on parameters of your choice.

• You must use the "key" object with at least one key to control an aspect of your patch.

• Optionally, you can use a MIDI device to control a parameter of your patch. However, we only have three controllers available, so not everyone can do this (we will assign devices in class).

In class, we will improvise together using our patches, and your laptop's built-in speakers. Important: we will all start together with a fading Bb (any octave), then move to whatever sound file you're using, and finish with a fade out on a E (any octave).
